Assistant Deputy Minister Catherine Scott and her team from the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) visited CCIS this week on a tour of our operations.
She spent some time touring different training programs at CCIS’ main office where she heard directly from recently arrived refugees in training.
She also dropped by one of the hotels where newly arrived Afghan refugees are staying to interact with the refugees and learn about their settlement experience.
Many of the refugees who spoke with Ms. Scott thanked IRCC and the government of Canada for giving them the opportunity for a fresh start in Canada, and Calgarians for being warm and welcoming.
We thank Assistant Deputy Minister Scott, and her team, for taking the time to listen & visit us.
